Ferrum

Ferrum is an old, traditional foundry in Switzerland. As the foundry business got no longer profitable, this part of the production ceased last year.
Together with an employee we had the opportunity to visit the location which usually is NOT accessible, as the area is still in use and guarded for the remaining business.

Sunshine on the Loo

One of the bathrooms in the Château Lumière with a little sunlight peaking in. But assumably in the past all doors were closed during “business hours” and due to no windows, only artificial light was available.

Entrance

One of many entrances to the metro network in Bucharest. On a weekdays afternoon it’s not too busy in here – but beware the rush hours!

Moon Halo

When I came home on Friday evening, the 18.01.2019, a big halo was visible around the moon.
As time was tight, I only took one handheld shot…

As I don’t remember seeing a phenomenon like that before, I checked for it:
In rare occasions, light reflected by the moon breaks in ice crystals in high altitude and create a halo around the moon. It seems to be a rare phenomenon and is often only visible in a photo but not by the bare eye. In this case… without seeing it, I would not have taken a picture that evening!

Get Ready

When one still discovers the basement – and another slowly feels thirst and hunger after about 6 hours of exploration in the Clinique Du Diable…

Watertower

For some people a rather uncommon building but for others just a regular thing: in the twilight the water tower almost looks like a flying saucer on a landing pod. 

In the Kitchen

Today the kitchen stays cold and the supplies are out!
As all the staff is currently absent, visitors are kindly advised to bring their own victuals to clean up after themselves.

Watchtower

At the corner of a partially abandoned industrial area just outside Brașov an old watchtower still stands above the walls. And the tower is still in use: a guard still oversees the abandoned area for no vandals and thieves  get through and to the parts that are still in use.
