Disconnected
When business was running, each room needed power, every floor was flooded by artificial light during the dark hours of the nights. But that’s long gone. Only a few ripped off ends from wires and some electric appliance remember of the busy times. Thieves stole all the copper from the tubes and everything that looked like easy money. Everything in here is disconnected today.

Sitting with Red
Most likely the door to this quiet place cannot be opened from the outside anymore. That must be the reason for it still has a decent condition. Funny story aside: I had no clue what could be in this room. So I held my camera blindly through the broken window until I heard a beep from the auto focus.

Roof Windows
At the end of April, there is still snow in the hills of Alsace. If someone would stay inside this building, most likely all windows were closed that day.

Look in to the Tube
Once a huge boiler was connected to those tubes. One tube most likely was for water, the other connected to a chimney. If there is a little wind outside, a low and hollow whistle sounds from the openings.

Snowdrops in the Spring Sun
Slowly spring is coming. The nights are still cold but some sun during the day makes first flowers appear on still empty meadows.

Where once people gathered for worship and to find peace, only shattered and colored windows remind us of the place it used to be.

Maqueraux a la Garage
Inside the garage, where a workshop surrounded by windows used to be, someone once must have had a little snack: some mackerel in a white wine sauce. The can is rusty, all glass broken… and the fish digested long time ago.

Hidden Door
On the lower side of the hydroelectric power station in Aarau, a door is hidden between walls and a stair. It looks like a secret entrance which the builders tried to hide from the public view.
